Growing Bryanskiy 91 from seed

The product card for this variety is still empty, so the notes below describe how seed of the species Nicotiana tabacum is normally handled. They are general guidance, not measurements taken from a tested lot of this variety.

• Sowing: scatter the seed on the surface of a fine, moist, well-drained seed-starting mix. Do not bury it and do not cover it with soil.
• Light: Nicotiana seed needs light to germinate, so keep it where it receives bright light.
• Moisture: keep the surface evenly damp with a fine mist or by watering from below, so the tiny seeds are not washed together or pushed under the surface.
• Seedlings: the first leaves are very small, so give them time and thin them gradually once they can be handled.
• Position: the species is generally grown in a sunny place with fertile, well-drained soil.

Because the seed is so fine, many growers mix it with a little dry sand before sowing, which makes it easier to spread thinly. Sowing thinly also reduces crowding in the tray and makes later transplanting easier.

What is not yet recorded

No seed specifications have been saved for this variety. For that reason this page does not state a plant height, a leaf shape or colour, a flowering time, a germination percentage, a sowing temperature, a germination time or a seed count per gram. The origin and breeding history of Bryanskiy 91 are also not documented in a way that can be checked, so they are left out rather than guessed. Details will be added when they are confirmed from a lot test or from the grower.

FAQ

How do I sow Bryanskiy 91 seeds?

Spread the seed over the surface of a moist seed-starting mix and leave it uncovered, because Nicotiana seed needs light to germinate. Keep the surface evenly damp and handle the fine seed gently. No variety-specific temperature or germination time is recorded yet.

When should I sow Bryanskiy 91?

No sowing calendar is recorded for this variety. Nicotiana tabacum is a warm-season annual, so seedlings are normally moved outdoors only after the weather has warmed and the soil is no longer cold. Local conditions decide the exact timing.

How tall does Bryanskiy 91 grow?

The height of this variety is not recorded on the product card, so no figure is given. A height will be added once it is confirmed from a reliable source or from plants grown from our own seed.
