Tobacco Seeds – Stolac 17 (Premium Bright Leaf Variety)
Stolac 17 is a distinguished Nicotiana tabacum variety, celebrated for its vigorous growth, large, heavy leaves, and consistent high yields. Originally developed in Yugoslavia, this variety has become a reliable choice for growers looking to produce high-quality, mild tobacco for cigarettes and pipe blends.
Description and Characteristics:
• Plant Structure: Stolac 17 plants exhibit a robust, upright growth habit, reaching heights of approximately 7 feet. The plant is characterized by large, wide leaves that contribute to its impressive yield.
• Leaf Quality: The leaves are light green during growth and cure to a rich, golden-brown color. Known for their smooth texture, they burn evenly and offer a mild, pleasant smoking experience.
• Flavor Profile: Stolac 17 offers a mild flavor with subtle sweetness, making it ideal for blending into custom tobacco mixes or as a standalone product for smooth smoking.
• Adaptability: Stolac 17 is well-suited for various climates and growing conditions, offering excellent performance with proper care.
Cultivation Guidelines:
1. Seed Germination: Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost. Press seeds lightly onto the soil surface without covering them, as they require light to germinate.
2. Soil Requirements: Stolac 17 thrives in fertile, well-drained soil with a pH range of 6.0–7.0. Enhancing the soil with organic matter can improve growth and overall yield.
3. Sunlight and Watering: Provide full sunlight and consistent watering to maintain moisture in the soil without over-watering.
4. Harvesting and Curing: Harvest the leaves individually as they mature, starting from the lower tiers. Air cure in a shaded, well-ventilated space to preserve the rich flavor and aroma of Stolac 17 tobacco.
