About this variety
Djubek Lemon Tobacco Seeds – Historic Pre-Revolutionary Papyrosa Variety
General Description
Dubek Lemon is an heirloom papyrosa tobacco variety, historically cultivated in Crimea until 1944. This elite pre-revolutionary tobacco was used in high-end papyrosas, which were sold at a premium price—6 kopecks for 10 pieces, making them among the most expensive of their time. Known for its light yellow leaves, smooth, aromatic smoke, and high-quality blending properties, Dubek Lemon became a symbol of luxury in the early 20th century.
In 1943, seeds of this rare variety were taken from Crimea to Germany by B. Rothmaler, ensuring its survival outside its native region. Despite its near disappearance after World War II, Dubek Lemon remains a highly sought-after variety among collectors and tobacco connoisseurs.
