About this variety
Dragon fruit is a climbing cactus grown for its distinctive pink fruit.
For sowing, use a clean, fine, free-draining cactus or seed-starting mix. Place the seeds on the surface and press them gently into the mix. Mist carefully so the seeds are not displaced. Keep the container warm, in bright indirect light, and evenly moist but never waterlogged. A loose transparent cover can help maintain humidity; provide ventilation and remove the cover gradually after seedlings appear.
When seedlings are large enough to handle, move them into small individual pots with excellent drainage. Acclimate them gradually to stronger light. Mature dragon fruit is a vigorous vining cactus and benefits from a sturdy support, warm conditions, good airflow, and protection from prolonged cold or saturated soil.
