Agricultural technology for growing Allium seeds
The genus Allium includes more than 600 plant species that grow in different climates. All types of onions have similar cultivation techniques.

1. Variety selection
When choosing an onion variety, you need to consider the following factors:
- Purpose of cultivation: Onions can be used as a food, technical or ornamental crop. For each purpose, there are different types of onions that have certain properties.
- Plant height: Different varieties of onions differ in plant height. There are varieties that reach a height of 10 cm, and varieties that reach a height of 1 m.
- Bulb Coloring: Onion bulbs can be colored in a variety of colors, including white, yellow, red and purple.

2. Soil preparation
Onions are a light-loving plant, so to grow them you need to choose sunny areas. Onions prefer fertile, loose and well-drained soils with a neutral or slightly alkaline reaction.

3. Landing
Onion bulbs are planted in open ground in the spring, when the soil temperature reaches +5 °C. The planting depth is 4-6 cm. The distance between the bulbs is 10-15 cm.

4. Plant care
Onions are an unpretentious plant, but to obtain a good harvest the following measures must be taken:
- Watering: Onions are a moisture-loving plant, so during the growing season it is necessary to regularly water the plants, preventing the soil from drying out. In hot and dry weather, watering is carried out daily.
- Fertilizing: During the period of active plant growth, 2-3 fertilizing with mineral fertilizers is carried out. The first feeding is carried out in the phase of 3-4 true leaves, the second - in the budding phase, the third - in the flowering phase.
- Weeding: It is necessary to weed regularly so that they do not choke the plants.

5. Harvest
Onion bulbs are harvested during the ripening period, when they reach optimal size and color. Harvesting is carried out manually or using combines.

Additional Tips
- Onions prefer sunny places, but can also grow in partial shade.
- Onions are a moisture-loving plant, but regular watering promotes more intensive growth and development of plants.
- Onions do not require frequent feeding. It is enough to apply fertilizer 2-3 times a season.
