🌿 Botanical Description

Balsam fir trees can grow up to 20 m high. The fir buds are round, resinous, and beautifully shiny, measuring 4-6 mm in length. The needles are flat, dark green in color, with two whitish stripes running along them from below. They are up to 3 cm long and 2 mm wide. The cones are oval-cylindrical, measuring 5–10 cm long and 2–2.5 cm thick. Young cones are dark purple, while mature ones are gray-brown and very resinous, ripening and crumbling in October.
